Regeneration

Returning native trees to former paddocks.

Looking beyond the next harvest

Much of this country was once jarrah and marri forest. Since 2020, we’ve been planting native trees in former paddocks, with the aim of restoring habitat for the generations to come.

Work that takes time

Beyond the planting

Getting trees into the ground is a beginning. Helping them establish, watching new growth and caring for the planting are the work of the years that follow.

REFORESTATION / LAND

Putting the forest back

Much of this land was once jarrah and marri forest, cleared over generations for timber and farming. Native tree planting has been underway at Bangadang since 2020, bringing trees back into former paddocks.

We’re working towards more connected native vegetation and lasting habitat across the Farm. The planting takes a season; the forest will take much longer.

01

Former paddocks

The work starts with land that was previously cleared. Each planting adds to the areas of native vegetation across the Farm.

02

Native trees

The surrounding landscape informs the work. Jarrah and marri are part of the story of this place and the forest we’re working to restore.

03

What happens next

How many trees establish, where they grow well and where they struggle all matter. Those observations help guide the next round of planting and care.
